June gloom, yep...

it is officially June 1st and what comes with it.... cold weather? HUH? It is 61 degrees and overcast this first day of the month. So sad. It is usually like this the entire month here in Sunny San Diego. Nice huh? Don't come for a visit yet, ok? Wait till July or August.

So I have so much to share today. New kits, designing birthdays, a freebie... WOW, wow wuzby! :)

Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog...

It is sooo HOT out today. Yikes... we topped 100 degrees about 1pm. I bet the fire warning are popping up already. Please no fires!!! I am sweltering today and I was smart to keep the house all closed up (keeps in the cool from the night). I even had to put all the chocolate Easter candy in the fridge. So... since its too hot to go out, I will just share lots and lots of stuff with you... and maybe I will have a treat for you at the end... if you sit still the whole time. he he

Trixie Scraps released a new kit earlier this month called Slumber Party. When I first saw this kit, I thought WOW, very girly! Cute but super duper girly. So of course my first layout is girly! Then I went to play with it again... and what do you know, it has more purposes than just bedtime or slumber party pics. Here is my layout using a breath of fresh air. Yes, that's me! We were at Disneyland and was all hot but I love the smile on my face. I love to smile now that I have braces (see the shiny grill there?) and it makes me so Happy!!! For credits - go HERE.


Ok... I am a bad bad blogger sometimes. This awesome kit was released last week by Stolen Moments and Scraps by Jen - both awesome designers at Digital Candy. It is called Wynken, Blynken and Nod. How cute is that name? And oh my gosh, you seriously need to buy this kit to scrap any sleep, baby, nighttime rituals, etc layouts. This kit has 35 papers (all so cute) and 67 adorable elements.
And here is my layout that I made using Wynken, Blynken and Nod. Well, I actually used it for a Speed Scrap (late) but couldn't submit it because it wasn't released yet. The Speed Scrap instructions were by Trixie Scraps and we had to write some meaningful journalling.. and this is what I came up with. The picture is my first born son, who was born a month early and was 5lbs 1oz.

Here is the layout I made with it. That is my sister and my husband and me in the layout. My sis with the blonde hair and me with the dark hair. Want to know something funny? My sis is really a strawberry blond-ish color and I am really a blonde... but we switched. I guess neither of us were happy with the hair we got! Go figure.

And here is my layout! What a cute kid I have, huh? Ha ha... if you know me, you know that's not one of my boys. And if you are fan of Stolen Moments, you know that it is her son. Say WHAT? Why am I scrapping with Amber's boy? Funny story actually. Amber used this pic in a layout a long time back and I thought she had extracted it and made it look like he was holding something. She didn't but he was holding something - the changing table rail. I thought this picture would look adorable extracted so she sent it to me... and there it sat on my desktop, just waiting for the perfect kit to use with it. Along came FLORAL FUSION and I loved that large white frame so I decided to use the pic of Ethan. I love how it turned out and was expecting all sorts of gushy-ness from Amber... but what did I get... a Where did you get that pic? Seriously. Amber totally forgot that she had sent it to me - that's how long its been on my desktop. So I called her a dork and reminded her of the layout, blah blah and it all came back to her. So... there! I am always looking for great or unique pictures to scrap so if you have one, send it on over. I am always up for a challenge. Uh... just don't forget you sent it to me, ok. (love ya silly Amber)

I got to play with something fun this past week - the Scrapbook Graphics April Collab - Impressions of Renewal. Now if you are a fan of all the Studio Girls, you have to check this collab out. There were so many possibilities for layouts that I was almost overwhelmed. So I made this simple but lovely layout as my horrible migraine began to subside. It was very calming to work with this kit... so beautiful... all of it!

Here are two layouts I made using HOP ALONG. The first layout is my son Dylan last year. I was sure we were not going to get the eggs done with any intact. He was handling them like footballs or skeeballs! In the second layout is Ryan, my oldest. But that picture was taken was he was just a wee 9 months old. I sure wish they stayed little like that.
